Ack. Sheer. Size.

Chinese New Year (read: 8-course meal dinners 4 days in a row, pineapple tarts, BAH KUAs etc. etc. etc.) hasn’t helped my already-expanding girth which has been on a roll on top of the lack of exercise due to projects. The last time I tried running with my sister, one round of my 19-block estate already felt a little harsh on my stamina-deficient lungs. That was even before all the pigging out (pardon the pun) began. No thanks to my hearty metabolism rate, my arms are also saying ‘hello’ to it’s bye-bye muscles (wave goodbye and look at your biceps to see what I mean) once again. Not a good sign at all.

I’m generally nonchalant about my looks BUT feeling overtly un-fit (and betraying too much of that) irks me. I want my pre-school (pre-poly, not kindergarten but that’ll be nice) fitness back!!!

This week will be a good one to start though. Dragon boat-ed a la Pirates of the Carribean yesterday (think rowing in choppy waters and rain), a good game of tennis today, swimming and running on Tuesday, cycling with the boyfriend on Thursday. And jamming. My muscles are feeeelin’ it. Yahoo!

And it’s the end of February already! This is scarily fast. I’m really looking forward to March though. Can’t wait to catch Jaga Jazzist and Chick Corea at the Mosaic Music Festival.

Much to do, march to do. Bwahaha.

Conkydence.

If you realise, I don’t usually blog about daily living nowadays.
Today, however, I shall make an exception. Here goes nothing:

Serene, Eve and I made a date for Al Ameen on Thursday. But Eve couldn’t make it down due to work, and I had a bad throat.

Just now, Adam joined me for a late dinner after worship band practice at Al Ameen. Halfway through my usual teh-O halia and cheese and mushroom prata (don’t ask about the throat; I got tired waiting for the menu to make its grand entrance), I saw…

Serene!

She bimbo-swung past me with her nice-soft-hair-that-I-once-grossly-mistook-for-them-being-rebonded and I was like, such a, like, coincidence! Hehehehe.

I felt so bad to like, let the poor girl end up solving her dinner like, alone? But we’ll probably meet up again, like, next week. Yayness to that!~

Ahem.

So my meal wasn’t that satisfying — I was starting to be crankily random. I needed another drink. So I ordered horlicks, and it didn’t end there…. . … ….

GUESS WHO?

.

EVE!!

WaH sEhZ wAh SeHzxZX~!! So sCaRy rIgHtXZx. Muahaha.

And so, the two aHmAs and bIms are fated to meet; this time a day and a week later.

On violence and sex:
One kills humans unnecessarily, the other makes humans unnecessarily (so to speak).

Guess what YouTube chooses. >>

Note: I don’t condone one or the other. Read the article and make your own discernment.

M’senile.

Strangely enough (or not?), poring through the articles as though they were another bout of the usual online news-reading made information-absorption so much easier. It actually got rather interesting, and I had to pull myself back from deviating too far from the essential stuff. Wow. They’d better not drop out of my shrinking memory storage space by tomorrow, though.

Well, well. At least it was one productive day of ’studying’. On other days of futile attempts, I’ve been either distracted, detracted or…

Yeah, like now.

If you realise.

It’s not that I don’t want to trust you, but He has revealed your motive and lies to me.

Stop trying to please those who really aren’t worth it. Give yourself more respect. I’ll be here; look for me if you are willing to come clean. Don’t lie anymore, please. Lies will never remain beneath the covers for long.

You can run from me, but you can’t run from God.

Almost done.

The little blog category (called ’school’) that could is going to be defunct soon. And it’s hello once again to @Work. After that final IMC project which dragged for 12 days too long, the freedom brings a little relish, yet a little more unease. MCM has taught me plenty: from dealing with deadlines and stress, to handling setbacks and enigmatically broken friendships. But the working world, as my internships have taught me, is still very different. And the end of school means new responsibilities and challenges ahead.

I have dreams that I want to fulfill, but these dreams will most probably remain vacant. Reality has determined it that way. So being the idealist-no-longer, I’m letting them slide — till God wills them out of slumber.

That aside, both demos are up! Click here!

Recording.

First and foremost, I’m very grateful to have bandmates whom I’m really comfortable with and who do not give me well, undue stress. (: Thanks guys for that vote of confidence — it really meant a lot to me! I will definitely push myself to keep improving and not let the band down. Thanks, James for spending time and sleep recording the guide tracks (in stereo somemore haha); Adam for being such a peach and my numero uno source of stres — I mean — strength (bwahaha), and Bonk for your tIpStErXx.

I’d also like to thank my mom (sniff), dad, brother and sister…

Oops, wrong channel.

So it was my first attempt at studio recording for drums today. Practised to the click (metronometer! HA.) yesterday at Adam’s, and I guess I scared him with my ‘black’ (read: serious and concentrating) uh, facade. I was rather stressed, ‘cos I’ve never recorded. What if I were to screw-up? The boys would end up having to lay the track for me and we’d probably be sued for misrepresentation when I play it ‘live’ because I’m not even half as good as they are.

Okay, okay — I’ll attempt a bit of self-efficacy here. Maybe just half.

Well, I managed to record both songs in less than 2 hours. Which is not too bad (I think)! Yeah. Yay. And we’re going to have a MYSPACE then.

(That’s a rather forced smile, innit. My head was swimming in the headphones.)

EDIT 020206 11:50PM: Our Myspace is up! HAHA. Click on the name below!
